It's been a little over a week since Ayla has been to her 1 year doctor's appointment. Like usual they checked her weight and height and she got 3 shots. During th visit the doctor told us that we could start giving her whole milk. We were very excited because right now the "special" formula that Ayla is on is very expensive.
So we got home and tried to give her the milk. She made the funniest face. Obviously this was not going to be easy, she did not like it and since she was hungry at that moment and really wanted that bottle she started wailing. We had to do the old 1/2 and 1/2 to try and ease her into it. Everything seem to be fine but then one night she woke up miserable and crying out in pain, we couldn't comfort her at all. For days she was not a very happy baby and several night in a row she woke up miserable and in what seemed to be pain. It's was so hard at that point to pinpoint what the problem was. Was it the milk? The shots? Teething? Also she happened to have a cold, could it have been that? Everything is a guessing game since she can't communicate and tell us what is wrong. Well we took her to the doctor and what he said was that she could be irritable still from the shots or that she may be having a reaction to the milk. He also said that he did see that she had teeth coming in. So basically he couldn't really tell us so we had to wait it out.
Days have passed and now she seems to be over her cold and it's been over a week since her shots. I'm happy to say that she seems to be feeling much better. She's slept through the night the last couple of nights and she seems to be the happy little girl that I'm use to seeing everyday. I'm so glad she is feeling better.
